IPP began as a sole proprietorship in 1996, initially focused on the construction industry. Over time, we expanded into plant hire, bulk earthworks, and opencast mining, eventually evolving into full mine ownership—now our core area of operation.
As a proudly South African company, we are committed to delivering efficient, sustainable, and world-class mining solutions. Built on a foundation of quality, integrity, and innovation, IPP plays a key role in the mining sector—supplying specification coal to the country’s largest electricity provider, as well as high-grade coal to both domestic clients and international markets.
IPP Group comprises multiple entities that offer a fully integrated, end-to-end mining solution covering every phase from project inception to completion. Headquartered in South Africa with a growing international footprint, we own and operate our mines using a combination of in-house equipment and trusted contractors. Our operations include opencast mining, processing, and the sale of coal and aggregate, with coal traded from our own reserves on an FOT, FOR, and FOB basis. We also secure port allocations for the export of various coal grades. At IPP, we don’t just mine—we create opportunities, drive progress, and power the future.
