Onverdacht Colliery is located approximately 25 km north of Belfast in Mpumalanga, accessible via the Eerstelingsfontein offramp on the N4. Positioned on the eastern edge of the Witbank Coalfields, the site is underlain by the Vryheid formation, which contains the remaining coal seams. Currently in production, Onverdacht focuses primarily on the No.2 seam, with limited access to the No.4L seam due to geological constraints. The mining area spans 642 hectares, with an estimated 4 million tons of coal reserves still in place.
