Nndanganeni Colliery

A diverse coal mining and beneficiation site in the heart of IPP Coal Country – where our expertise transforms raw resources into high-quality products, driving sustainable growth and powering local economies.

Nndanganeni is located north of the N4 near the Woestalleen/Pan offramp, along the vital Maputo trade corridor between Middelburg and Belfast, Mpumalanga. Established in June 2022, the site operates as the beneficiation and processing hub of IPP, centred around a fully rigged Dense Media Separation (DMS) plant. With over 1.7 million tons of high-grade thermal coal reserves and access to multiple adjacent resource zones, the operation supports both domestic and export markets. Monthly output ranges between 80,000 and 150,000 tons, with flexible road and rail links connecting to multiple sidings, ensuring
efficient logistics across the value chain.

Covering 400 hectares of surface rights within a broader 2,000-hectare mining area, Nndanganeni features several active pit sources feeding its centralised infrastructure. As part of IPP’s commitment to sustainable development, the site implements robust environmental initiatives, including water conditioning and progressive rehabilitation to preserve the surrounding ecosystem. Its location, infrastructure, and quality resources position Nndanganeni as a cornerstone in IPP’s thermal coal portfolio and a standout operation in the region.
