Lemoenfontein Colliery is located east of Middelburg along the N4, with access via the R104 route toward Belfast. The site covers approximately 57 hectares, including areas designated for rehabilitation and further development, and is currently in operation. Mining commenced in November 2024, with operations scheduled to continue through to
November 2025. Current monthly output has grown steadily, ranging between 5,000 and 40,000 tons, depending on active faces and site conditions.
The geology of the area continues to show encouraging potential, and further exploration is underway to guide the direction of future activity. While formal reserve estimates are still in progress, on-the-ground
results continue to inform production planning. Lemoenfontein is a dynamic and responsive operation, evolving as new geological insights
